It is an activity which takes place on the river. Although the possibility is slight, it is more likely you will get wet in Itinerary 1 and 3 than in Itinerary 2.

We hardly ever find mosquitoes on the river.

If we foresee bad weather (rain or wind) it is advisable to wear a raincoat.

The law is very strict on that point : one must be able to swim.

Yes, unless you have a medical condition or you find it uncomfortable sitting.

No. You have to be at least 2 people (1 of them an adult).

Buoyancy aids which fits the client are compulsory and are provided by Kayak del Ter.

We will provide you with a waterproof bag. You are responsible for its right use.

You can take your dog if it does not attack any animal or harm the environment, as the river runs through a nature reserve. The dog must be insured, vaccinated and been treated for parasites.

Our instructors will take you to the start and will instruct you in paddling and ensure you are confortable in the kayak. They will also give you instructions about the necessary security measures before embarking on your trip (compulsory by law).

If booked in advance, guides can be hired for teaching kayak, bird watching, fauna and landscape.

No, unfortunately, you can’t. You will only have legal access to the river if you have an up to date permit from the A.C.A. (Agència Catalana de l’Aigua). All continental waters (rivers, waters-carved gullies, streams, ponds, lakes, marshes, reservoirs, lakes…) of Catalonia are ruled by the legal authority of the A.C.A.

This permit of responsible use is free but compulsory for private individuals. It is an identity number and registration, where the environmental obligations and prescriptions of the section and time of the year are specified. You may be requested such permit by the Rural Rangers and the Catalan Autonomous Police. If you are on these waters without such permit, you can be fined up to 6.000€ per person/boat.

Kayak del Ter has the duty and obligation for foresee the fulfilment of the environmental laws.
